Energy Smart Grid Gateway with 4-port switch, Modbus, IEC61850 & IEC60870-5-104

The SG-gateway with integrated switch is a remote terminal unit and Smart Grid gateway for the energy market. The 4-port switch enables routing of any of the Ethernet-based protocols between 2 separate IP networks.

The Ixxat SG-gateway supports the communication protocols used in the energy sector, e.g. IEC60870-5-104 and IEC61850.
The gateway can also support the connected electric equipment in the field, via an Ethernet interface and/or a serial port, using the protocols Modbus TCP and RTU. As an option, the SG-gateway can include 3G modem.

Smart grid applications

The Ixxat SG-gateway is designed to specifically target Demand Response (networking of industrial electric loads) and Virtual Power Plants (networking of energy resources like biogas plants or combined heat and power units) applications and all applications requiring to bridge between energy and industrial automation communication systems.

Easy web-PLC-programming

The application logic can be programmed on the device either using the integrated graphical web editor or by using a predefined configuration loaded to the device. The graphical web editor is a very intuitive and easy to use interface to program software applications and configure the gateway. No engineering tools are required and it can easily be accomplished by service technicians.
